Book Fair from A-Z

Here you will find all of the important information and facts at one glance.

A - Access/Admission Tickets/Advertising/Arrivals

Access

Everyone has access to the book fair.

Admission Tickets

As admission to the book fair is free of charge, there will not be any official admission tickets.

Advertising Materials

Once again, we will produce a variety of materials to advertise the fair, including a newsletter with advertising, postcards, posters and stickers. Please let us know if you are interested in these materials by sending a fax +49 6131 12 34 88 or by dialing +49 6131 12 26 76.

Arrivals

The City of Mainz can be reached via several motorways and train connections from all directions. Signs in and around the city will point the way to the fairgrounds. Numerous connections will allow you to make perfect travel arrangements to and from Mainz.

B - Banks/Book Fair Duration/Booth Setup/Bus Lines

Banks

The closest ATM is located downtown and is easy to reach from the fairgrounds. From the Rhine River go left past the Rathaus, cross the Rheinallee, and go straight into the city. At the fountain, you will find the ATM on the right.
The banks in the vicinity of the fairgrounds can be found as follows:

A branch of the Sparkasse Mainz is directly in the market square in front of the cathedral (Dom) when coming from the fairgrounds. A branch of Commerzbank is located at the Höfchen near the cathedral (Dom).
HypoVereinsbank AG is located at Gutenbergplatz 18,
Raiffeisen-Volksbank eG has a branch at Gutenbergplatz 1 and Citibank can be found at Flachsmarkt 4.

Book Fair Duration / Opening Hours

Thursday + Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. (18th and 19th May)
Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (20th of May)
Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (21st of May)

As in the past, the show will remain closed to the public on Friday morning until 2 p.m.; this is Publishers Day. Here you may leave your booth and stroll around the fair, without crowds of visitors.

Booth Setup

Booths may be set up as of 8 a.m. on Thursday morning (May 18th) (not earlier!) and must be completed by 1 p.m.. As of 1.30 p.m., we will award the remaining booths to those on the waiting list (fair opens at 2 p.m.).

Travel by train to the Mainzer Minipressen-Messe. Numerous connections make traveling to and from the book fair easy. Owing to the central location of the Mainz Central Station, you will be able to reach the fairgrounds easily and quickly. Arrival and departure times, connections and prices can be obtained from the Railway Information Service by dialing +49 18 05 99 66 33 also under www.bahn.de

Disabled People

The book fair is at ground level and thus suitable for disabled people.

E - Exhibitor Passes

Exhibitor Passes

There is no special exhibitor pass for the Minipressen-Messe, but the certificate of attendance will act as such in certain situations. Short-term parking for setting up and dismantling booths is possible near the Rheingoldhalle. The certificate of attendance entitles you to drive onto the promenade on the banks of the Rhine River for 60 minutes!

In addition to German publishers, exhibitors from 16 countries around the world will be coming to Mainz this year in order to exhibit at the Minipressen-Messe.

Night Guards

The fair is guarded by the security staff, which is dedicated to the Minipressen trade fair. At night the Rheingoldhalle is closed.

Press and PR

Please note that films and photographs will be taken of the booths, products and interviews on behalf of the Minipressen-Messe. This material will be used for our own documentation purposes or for advertising measures. We ask the exhibitors to respect this and to support the production teams in their work as far as possible.

R - Restaurant

Restaurant

There will be a café, where exhibitors and visitors can rest and refresh themselves. There will be the customary sausage stands, beverage stands and the stand run by an organic bakery in front of the Rheingoldhalle.

S - Security Services/Setup/Signage/Standard Equipment for the Booths/Subjects

Security Services

General security services for the book fair, the outdoor venues and the checks at the entry points will be provided by the security firms hired by the Minipressen-Messe.

Setup

A stand consists of a table (2.00m x 0.60m), two chairs and, depending on the registration, walls, and is placed by the Minipressen fair.

The screens are 2 meters high and 1 meter wide.
Caution: Do not tear or nails in any way (re-liability for any kind of damage!).

Hanging can be carried out from above by means of a hook. The walls are 1 cm thick. Exhibitors are requested to bring their own cords, sellotape, tools and decorative materials, it is not provided by us.

Signage

Booth signs will not be provided by the Minipressen-Messe, but may be made by exhibitors.

Standard Equipment for the Booths

Chairs, tables and wall panels will be provided at the Minipressen-Messe. You may bring your own booths only after consulting with the fair organisation, who may be reached by dialing +49 6131 12 26 76.

These subjects will be grouped together at the book fair. Of course, special wishes concerning locations will be respected, which will loosen up the groups a bit.

Train connections

In many cases the Deutsche Bahn will take you to the Mainz Central Station (Hauptbahnhof Mainz) traveling from German and European metropolises. The station is not far from the Mainzer Minipressen-Messe.
